Hi I recently installed xubuntu on my hp pavilion dv2000. The installation from the live cd went fine, but when I tried to load it from the grub menu, all I'd get is a blank white screen. At this point I have no option but to turn off the power. Is there anyway I can correct this.

Post your specs.
Try installing with the Xubuntu Alternate CD
Even then, you might need to fix the xserver.
Can you boot into Recovery Mode?
If so; try 'xfix'

Thanks for the info. When I do xfix, my video works, however, I have to do it for each individual session. Is there can way for the xfix save the settings?

i changed to kubuntu, but i still have the same problem. i appreciate your help. thanks in advance.
