Strange problem

i have this strange problem...My speaker works but the output i get in Ubuntu is very less than what i get in Windows XP....And also my headphones are not working in Ubuntu where as it works fine in Windows,,Pls help me
By the way my configuration is
1GB RAM
Intel 946gzis Motherboard...I don't have a external soundcard..
I had posted this b4 but had not got a solution pls help

What have you done. It would have been nice if you had told us. The more info the better. Have you checked that the main and pcm controls are turned up when you double click on the speaker icon?
