View Full Version : "Simple Uninstaller - Remove Ubuntu easily"

I game across a google ad for this site & program: http://simpleuninstaller.com

What stuck me was that it offered to uninstall Ubuntu. Odd. I doubt it would do the partitioning and everything, it probably only uninstalls wubi.

But for Ubuntu to be actually listed? I wondered if it was such a popular item... so I did some research.

Going to the Google Keyword Tool (click (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal)), I searched for "ubuntu". The word "uninstall" didn't even come up in the list that practically covers everything. Same for vice-versa.

Very strange I thought, and checked out Google Trends. But that doesn't show much confirmation either (click (http://www.google.com/trends?q=uninstall+ubuntu%2C+install+ubuntu&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0)).

So, oddly enough (and probably happily), apparently uninstalling Ubuntu isn't such a popular item... I suspect they just used a bunch of keywords of the most popular programs for SEO optimization.

Just a heads up to anyone who runs into this ;)

I went to that page.

Frankly, I don't trust any page that

1) I found in a Google Adsense ad, and
2) is formatted so that every hyperlink directs to a download.
