Those are my computer specs, thread title is my Ubuntu version.

I am currently running a OS off a cd, just to post my problem here for you. I have a computer I want to install Ubuntu on, you all see the computer specs in the pictures. The Ubuntu cd checks itself for errors and comes up just fine, but when I install it I get a error about copying files from the cd to the hard drive. Sorry for the vague description but it's all I can remember about it, I was installing and watching a movie.

Does any one know why I am having a problem installing this onto my computer?

I have a theory that the cd might be a bad copy, and that I need to get another. But I want to see other peoples opinions on this, and I don't have a bunch of computer literate people to talk to in person. Hell I'm barely computer literate myself.

I think you can do a test from the boot menu of the live cd/dvd.. I am pretty sure you can in fact.. then it should report if the cd is ok.

Because if it's something wrong with the CD it seem to be the absolute best case scenaro to me.. very easy to solve :)

So I would definatly check the CD first of all.
