I just recieved my xps 1330 yesterday. I started it up and put in my username and my password. I then looked at users and noticed there was a root account. Is there a default password for root? I did not set a root account or a password.
Thanks,
Cygnis1

A default ubuntu installation does not have a root password. The administrator can gain root access with sudo using his/her own password. Not having a root password adds to security, since the admin must login as a regular usr 1st. This prevents remote root logins amongst other things.
