I'm running Edubuntu 8.04 and I'm trying to add shortcuts to the desktop for high use applications. I *thought* you right clicked on the app and then would have the option to add it to the desktop.

Not the case, at least not for my install. When I right click no other options show up, it just starts the app. Is that the correct way to add an application shortcut, or is there a new way to do it? Or, did some setting get changed that's keeping me from doing that?

I have even tried as the admin user and still can't add any shortcuts to the admin desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

I might have the wrong idea about what you want to do but can't you just drag and drop the icon onto the desktop?

I'm trying this from the Application pull down, is that not the right place?

Kind of like in WinXP, Start --> Programs --> find the program --> right click --> add shortcut to desktop.

That's all I want to accomplish in Edubuntu.

Thx.
