I have Ubuntu 8.04 on a sata drive and it works great no problems, but I had laptop that crapped out on me. It had xp on it so I got an adapter and hooked it up to my motherboard for some reason I cant start microsoft off it. every time I try it goes in to the error screen stating it wasnt shut down properly and gives me the choice to start in safe mode, normal, etc. So I tried to mount it through hardy and no luck. I am really new to programming and Linux so I'm lost. Please help
Also the hardrive shows up but it is shown as a media drive.

I got A 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, so I can hook up my 2.5 laptop hard drive to my 3.5 ide cable and then into the motherboard
