View Full Version : [ubuntu] No partition of ubuntu

I had Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows both in my system. I reinstalled windows. After that I reinstalled grub using a live cd.
Now after reinstalling grub when i select ubuntu then it shows an error and says that "no such partition exists" :(.
All my data is in ubuntu. Pls help me.

Can you boot Windows? In that case, boot into Windows, click Start-Run and give the command
diskmgmt.msc Maximise the window to full size and post the screenshot here.

That will tell us if the ubuntu partition exists, as well as _where_ it exists, with which we can give you more specific steps to recover/boot the ubuntu installation.
