I'm from Palmer Alaska, USA. Can,t say much about Ubuntu yet, still waiting for my free CDs. From what I see on the Ubuntu website and from articles I've read, I'm already quite impressed. I'd download Ubuntu but only have dialup internet service.
I was using SUSE 8.2 for the past year or so, installed Debian "Woody" a couple of weeks ago and was disapointed. Gnome only at version 1.4??? argh! Also, "Woody" did a lousy job of detecting my USB hardware and botched up the xfee86 configuration. I had to do a bunch of manual tinkering to get a useable system.

Patriko, eagerly wating for my Warty CDs.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA..... Been using Ubuntu since about October. Currently have it installed on 2 x86 desktops, 1 x86 laptop, 1 ppc desktop and 1 ppc laptop (I also have installed it on a few machines @ work, x86 and ppc), all are working well. I have been attending the Milwaukee Linux Users Group and distributed many Ubuntu CDs there and at the 2 Universities I have been attending, hopefully this will spread the Ubuntu Love ;)

If any of the other Wisconsin folks on here would like to get together and help spread Ubuntu in the area, I would be willing to set something up.

Was this a serious statement? I would think the country is not listed because most people already know. You appear to know what country they are from because you identified them as “US posters”. :-s

Thanks for the apology but there is no need to apologize. I did not take offense to your statement but was not sure how to take it. I think this is more of a reflection of uncertainty as a U.S. citizen of how we are perceived by people in other countries.
