Greetings,
I have a notebook (Acer 529ATXV) that use to run windows XP. I installed Ubuntu on it and it rocks! I need a program like Hyperterminal (windows program) to dial the modem in the notebook so I can connect with our phone system for programming.

Can anybody recommend a program ?

thanks,
Darryl

Try gtkterm:

sudo apt-get install gtkterm

I would suggest cutecom. GTKterm is OK. I had been using gtkterm. But it cant be used to log the data into a file. But cutecom lets you do that.

Cheers,
Tony

Putty has an excellent serial connection ability. I use it regularly for hyperterminal type connections.
