View Full Version : Problem installing ubuntu studio

hi this is my first time to install any ubuntu platform so bare with me.


im having problems installing ubuntu studio on my system. when i clicked install ubuntu studio(100% installation of kernel) then after that there's only a blank screen with underscore blinking.
(burned the iso... downloaded it directy from the website)

my system spec
intel 2180
2gig ram
abit f-i90hd
7800gt
640gb
samsung dvdrw

my pc parts is almost bnew (2 weeks used)

i have 2 drives
c:>winxp 3 installed 100gb
d:>back up drive 500gb

did i miss something?

Hi and welcome, Have you tried using the F4 option and change the resolution as the nvidia graphics may cause a issue. If that does not work you may try and install Ubuntu then you can install the studio packages from the repositories.

hello there! i tried the f4 mode but there's no thing that would change the resolution(choices are: Normal, OEM manufacturer and type in command line)

if there's no luck for me to install ubuntu studio..what kind of distribution would you recommend me? thanks!

i also tried linux mint! after i chose install linux mint.... the blinking underscore would also appear. What seems to be the problem? I'm booting it on my cd rom
