New user needs help with wireless

Hi. I just recently installed Ubuntu 8.04 onto to my hpc500 laptop.
My wireless button is on.

I ran a systeminfo check in the dos command prompt and it's showing that I have to network cards installed on it.

1. realtek RTL8139/810X FAMILY FAST ETHERNET
CONNECTION NAME: LOCAL AREA CONNECTION
Status: Media disconected
2. Broadcom 80.11 b/g wireless network connection


The only thing is when I tried to connect to our apartment's router through ubuntu it doesn't connect. Then when I switch to window's vista it work's fine.

Have you read the wireless guide (https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/internet/C/wireless.html) at all?

Do you need to install hardware drivers [System], [Admin...], [Hardware Drivers] ? you will need to be connected to your router by cable and go back after install and enable them in the by the same route.
