Pidgin keeps just... randomly closing, for simply no reason. What's going on?

Try executing pidgin on your terminal and post whatever error/message it displays.

pidgin

Huh? What about trying to logout from your account then log back in and retry accessing your pidgin and if it closes again, try from your Terminal.

Does it also matter that ubuntu will completely stop working, and I have to shut the computer off manually...
Constantly?

Only the pidgin? how about the other applications?
does the Ubuntu effects On?

i restarted the computer, i had to do it manually, though. It froze when i tried to do it by ctrl+alt+delete.
I checked the options and ran it as...instead of "restore last session" or whatever, i ran it from "xscript client" or something crazy.

can you at least tell us the basic details on your computer?

oh lord, you're asking hardware specs, right?

I've forgotten, and I'm not sure how to use the computer to check this... Though, i was aware on how to do it with windows. XD

Try rebooting then selecting memtest at the grub screen. Its beginning to sound like possible hardware problems, so your RAM is a good first suspect.

What do your log files say?

Take a quick glance and see if there is anything worth noting?
