Hi. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run KDE apps in GNOME? If not, how do I install KDE as well as GNOME with the ability to switch between them.

Yes, it is. There is just the overhead of having the KDE libs and the GNome libs loaded at the same time. BTW, the reverse is true.

Yeah, you can run them just fine. I never notice a performance drop because it really isn't that big. However, KDE apps usually look very out of place in GNOME.
There was a program that's being worked on to make KDE apps look "native" in GNOME, but I can't remember the name right now.

Yes you can, you just have to install KDE dependencies. Ubuntu and Kubuntu are probably the closest together given they have the same repos. Many a time have I installed Amarok in GNOME.
