Hello,
I have questions could someone please help me figure out a few things with using Xubuntu?
Is there a tutorial on using Xubuntu for an operating system?
I am not sure where to go to find and clean out cache.
How do I open files after I download them?
  please help me, I'm ready to throw this whole thing across the room!

I use Ubuntu and under system there are about Ubuntu, about gnome and ? [help]. You will find nearly every thing you need to start using the system. I would think your system has something like this. When you encounter something you can't figure out come to the forums. Save all the links that you see here in the forums. If you don't need it today you might tomorrow. Good luck, it just takes a little time.

How do I open files after I download them?

1) What files are you trying to open? If they are word files, then you should download Openoffice.org. It is in the repositories.

2) .exe files will not open on GNU/Linux. It is for Windows. .deb is what is used for Ubuntu Linux.

3) Have you checked to see that what you want is in the repositories? (If it is an application that you are talking about.)
