Hi, all:

I just broke the back of my T-Mobile MDA (HTC running WM5). I need a new phone. I want one that will sync with Kontact in Kubuntu 8.04, KDE 4.1.1. I want a PDA smartphone that does it all, preferably with some kind of slide out QWERTY that's convenient for texting. I'm open to any service plan, provider, and phone. Here's what I have:

http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/Detail.aspx?device=8802ddeb-1ee4-477a-9608-d9cd1e2a903f

And I like it. I'd like something that can be hacked or whatever to work with Linux. I could really use recommendations of any provider or phone. It HAS to be compatible with my OS and DE.

Thanks!

Check the Samsung Blackjack 2.

Sweet PDA phone that's pretty cheap.

Hell and O,
this here maybe not so cheap as others
http://www.openmoko.com/
but it is opensoftware and openhardware and has a set of nice features (e.g. touchscreen, wlan, gps, motion sensitivity). Sharing with kubuntu is no problem on that phone.

CDMA is a proprietary technology ...
so the freerunner is based on GSM, available in two versions:
GSM northern america (850/1800/1900 MHz)
GSM rest of the world :)) (900/1800/1900 MHz)

damn, means I cant run that phone on my network. I use Cricket. So it has to be a CDMA phone, GSM isnt compatible, neither are the phones with flash cards.
