Does anyone have any idea why the forums were down this morning (Eastern Time)?

The forums go down every so often due to server loads and database issues. Usually waiting about an hour will fix it.

It was at least 7 hours today, for me at least.

It was down for a few hours. Later I am sure a explanation will be provided.

I believe it is safe to say they went down because something went wrong.

We're currently waiting on word from Canonical (they own the servers).

Also ubuntu-geek isn't around yet, and he has direct access to the servers, so we can't really do much else yet.

This forum is like a roller coaster. It goes up and down a lot. Just came back again. The funny thing was, I could surf the forum in the ph.ubuntuforums.org website, but not login or post. Hmm... Then it comes up then when down again. :D

Glad it's working again! :)

I thought that down time was probably caused by the removal of OMGPP. Clearly not. Not yet at least.

I said "Oh, it's down again...". Then I watched Police Academy 3, while smoking a coffee and drinking a cigarette.

They could have taken it down for maintenance. Wouldn't be the first time.

It doesn't do it a lot; people are on a lot and notice it more.

Usually that is announced or one gets a notice instead of a 503.

Roasting the coffee beans to the point of combustion and inhaling the smoke. Cigarette smoothie?

That's my suggestion :)

I mowed the lawn, cleaned the giunnea pig cage, tidied stuff away in the loft, fed the fish, watered the gerbils, made tomorrow's packed lunches for my wife, kids and me, fed the guinnea pigs, cleaned out the gerbil cage and watched the news on the TV.

There you go, a little snapshot into my life!
