I've a problem installing Ubuntu on my laptop (Patriot 3005). The last time I had Ubuntu installed was 5.10 and I had to use the command "linux vga=771" at the boot prompt. I don't how I can use this command with Ubuntu 8.x, is there some way I can get into the command line when installing and can I use "vga=771" or similar?

Cheers,
J.

When the disc boots use F6 - you should be able to append the vga=771 to the boot line, alternatively F4 will give the option for safe graphics mode.
