View Full Version : [all variants] Getting Windows software to run, when WINE won't work.

All;

Probably the wrong place to ask this question, but anyway.

I'm getting a system with 8 GB RAM.
Obviously, I'm going to install either Ubuntu on it.

However, I have half a dozen or so programs that run only on Windows. (They can't run under WINE, or clones thereof.)

Apparently, I won't be able to setup a dual boot system, because Windows can't handle that amount of RAM. (Well, Win2K can't, which is the version of Windows I have. For the record, the place that is selling that system, said that was too much RAM for all versions of Windows, barely adequate for Solaris, and fine for both BSD and Linux.)

Any pointers on what to do, so I can get those Windows programs to run?

Install a virtual machine like Virtualbox or VMware and install 32 bit Windows on it.
