Ubuntu Graphics Problem

Hi,

I installed the newest version of ubuntu this morning, and after it had been installed it had loaded up fine up untill the point where i had to login.

At the login screen the graphics were out of shape and had many wavy line shooting across the screen, and there was also a slight shadow, is there anyway of solving the problem.

Am new to linux OS so i need all the help i can get..

I have just got hold of an Elonex webbook for my wife and we have the same problem some programs when opened just crash screen completley, I am also new to Linux hope I dont regret it.

I think you need to be a bit more specific to receive any help.

What kind of graphics card do you have? It also sounds like your monitor may not be configured correctly, since you are reporting 'wavy lines'.
