Here's the story, I download the install ISO, burn it, and take it to the computer of which I desire to install Ubuntu on. I boot from cd and all goes well at start. It brings up the installation interface, i select english, install ubuntu, and then a ghastly box appears whining about I/O disk read error and an unavoidable prompt to reboot. this has been a posted problem before but i cant find any successful solutions. I have checked disk with md5sum, burned slowly, etc.. So can anyone tell me what the problem is??

1) Have you md5summed the download?

2) Have you burned the iso at 4x or less?

3) Could be a bad disk too.

Ok i have a similar problem but its at the end of the Install.

I install from a 8GB SD disk via UNETbooting and the newest ISO from Ubuntu

After the install is completed i restart and then i get about a million I/O Disk read errors. I can only force it to shut down and when i restart i get the fault while starting up if the system is starting up at all.

My system: Asus EEE PC 1201N with 3GB Ram 100GB Ubuntu Partition next to Win7
