well guys the old crappy dell dimension is going away next week

instead im building my computer and even better news i got a job :D

i will give you satistics on this system

intel core 2 duo E4600 3.2ghz going to overclock
gigabyte ep45-ds3l motherboard
kingston 512 ram
120gb seagate hard drive
lg dvd-dl burner
gigabyte 8600gt 512mb graphics card
thermaltake m9 case
freezing cooler system
2 acer lcd 19"

i forgot to add
one gigabyte gamers keyboard with neon buttong glow and one magnet gigabyte mouse

its going to cost me about 960$ because i have some of the parts already

im also getting a soundblaster by the way but im using stock at the moment cus my speakers own also getting adls2+ connection and three network cards for ipcop on one screen and ubuntu on the other

i really feel good about the outcomes of this system my dads having this **** comp but im getting a new keyboard and mouse for him

RAM is dirt cheap, there's no reason to just get 512 MB. I've heard mixed reviews about the 8600, if you do any newer gaming in Windows I would try and get an 8800 GT, they're really cheap now.

Other than that it looks great.

I would highly recommend you get DDR3 RAM. Also they have DDR3 RAM for video cards too. Plus you'll be able to upgrade easier too.

there are ddr5 video cards out now there thinking of updating the video cards to 2gigs worth

Get more ram, at least 2GB
Rather get a XFX 9600GT gfx card

960$ sounds VERY expensive. Is that US$? Which country do you live in if not US$?

or any other brand 9600GT. MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the 8600GT (well, 2x better in most cases) and it's relatively dirt cheap compared to other cards now.

sound: alc888
ethernet: d-link rtl8139 bcus the inbuilt one burnt out bcus of dead power supply yes wierd huh
graphics card: asus 3450 512mb
case: ritmo rhino5
cpu: intel dual core2 e2220
hd: same old hd 80 gig
ram: 2gig 800mhz
display/lcd: v7 gamers edition
