This is my first look at linux. I installed ubuntu on a spare hdd on Friday and am having a difficult time finding my way around. I have been a dos & windows user for years, but find linux to be very alien thus far.

Is there any documentation written for complete newbies on the basics of linux/ubuntu?

How do I find/read documentation that was installed with ubuntu on my local mahine?

Linux in a Nutshell and Running Linux, both from O'Reilly are great companions.

Try this website for some great starter tips specifically geared toward Ubuntu: www.ubuntuguide.org

May I suggest 'Linux Complete' by Sbyex, ISBN 0-7821-4036-X. It has helped me greatly.
