- you can't make 2 letter tags ("qt", for example)
- you can't use "common" tags ("help")

I see no need for such restrictions.

A help tag isn't descriptive though.

Qt could relate to the type of application etc.

I thought you were supposed to use multiple tags to describe a thread, not one big "descriptive" one.

My bad...

Well you can use multiple tags, that's the point. But adding a tag that says "help" isn't really an effective use of the tag system.

I probably should've worded my reply a little better, sorry :)

What about qt? Shouldn't qt be an exception?

We try to catch and handle all exceptions.

qt hasn't been done yet though.

the we catch and handle all exceptions bit was a programmer joke. (if it wasn't I guess LaRoza tricked me into exposing the depths of my geekhood)

Sorry, it was a programming joke. An exception is...very hard to explain to a non programmer.

My understanding is that an error occured of some sort, and you can.. catch it by preventing it from happening.. this is hard :|

Like A C++ Exception?

Like A C++ Exception?

Er, that is an example, but C++ is a horrible language and anything it does is probably wrong, unless it is a C compatible feature.

Sorry, it was a programming joke. An exception is...very hard to explain to a non programmer.

An exception is a condition which the computer detects while running a program which has not been provided for by the instruction or instructions being executed while the the exception was detected.

Is there still anything at all clear and understood?
