Installing Brainstorm

I am running Ubuntu Server 8.04 and trying to get Brain Storm to work. Everything is installed and working except the Brainstorm modules. It will show the qapoll and others as modules I can select, but when its selected and the block set to display on any part of the screen it does nothing. I have tried redoing the whole download and install, but it still wont display. It will display the other modules (i.e. users, polls), but not this one.
If anyone can offer any help with this I would appreciate it greatly as I have a deadline Monday and I sure would like to make it. Thanks

I started over and redid everything. Reinstalled the OS, php, Drupal, etc. I still cant get the block to show. QAPoll will show as a Module, but when I go to blocks it still doesn't appear. The ones that do appear are "QA-Website module action block", "QA-Website module action block 2" and "QA-Website top navigation bar". Has anyone gotten this to work? What am I missing?
