Hello all,

I am trying to determine the version number for a package I installed using Synaptic. When I bring up Synaptic and look at the package (snes9x-x), it gives the version number as "1:1.5-1".

If I go the developers' site (http://www.snes9x.com/news.asp), it shows that 1.5 is the most recent release, so I'm guessing that's what I have installed.

What does the "1:" at the beginning and "-1" at the end mean?

Thanks in advance.

I think that more comes from the ubuntu packaging team then anything, so that when a update comes they can mark a revision easier.
