Not sure the best way to get the Rhythmbox folks to make this a standard plugin, but I finally found a plugin that I could only find in Exaile (therefore making Exaile extraneous to me).

Code is here (http://www.nedrebo.org/code/rhythmbox/desktop_art).

Could someone, ANYONE, please tell me what has to happen to make this a standard Rhythmbox plugin? It's completely awesome, and seems pretty bug-free to me (even with Compiz on nvidia dual-head).

How about opening an enhancement request here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=rhythmbox

Or contact the developers here: http://www.gnome.org/projects/rhythmbox/feedback.html

In case someone is wondering what plugin is he talking about, here is a copied fragment from the url he posted:

This plugin shows album cover art for the current playing song in Rhythmbox on the desktop. It can optionally show the popular "web 2.0" shiny floor reflection effect. When you hover the image, previous, play and next buttons appear.

It would have to be a lot less buggy before it was included as a standard plugin.
