View Full Version : [ubuntu] Partition Screen Fails

The partition screen won't come up when I am installing Ubuntu, no matter if I try to install Server, Desktop, or alternate cd.

My computer is a DELL and it has 3 hard drives. The first hard drive has Windows XP. The 2nd has Scientific Linux. The 3rd drive is entirely vfat (for data so I can use it in both XP and Linux), mounted as one partition with the Linux installation.

This makes it a dual-boot system, works fine. I want to replace the Scientific Linux with Ubuntu, but when it tries to advance to the partitioning screen, just goes na-na blank.

All 3 drives are SATA, 250G 250G 500G resp. Can't find a post on this with searches so far.

Appreciate any help.

Without much to go on, the "trial error" thing I'd try first would be to simply disconnect the fat32 shared drive, and see if that lets the partition editor quit being confused.
