salam
i have question about files names in gnome

I do not want to show the full file name , because it sorted ugly !

for ex i want show 10 characters only and other characters don't show ?

i have tried to explore gconf to find this feature , but I can't find anything :(

i'm use ubuntu hardy 8.04

any suggestions ? :)

I don't know but the next gnome will have a column-wise view. You might like it. Wait a couple of months for it.
