Hi all,

I've been asked by my nephew to find some more "linux games" for him. I've only recently got him using Ubuntu and was hoping some of you may be able to suggest some games for him that may be found in Synaptic...anything non-violent would be great!

cheers!

Planet Penguin Racer is probs the best game that a child could play.
I play it ocassionally and heck, im 17 =P

It's in the repos and also has extra maps also in repos.

I like pingus--available in the repositories.

Seems suitable enough for the kids.

There are tons of games available, for all ages. Search in synaptic under games and/or education.

There are many games available for linux and I mean available as free, because you can actually play many Windows games using WINE (http://www.winehq.org/).

This page: playdeb (http://www.playdeb.net/), has probably all the games that are available.

One that I really like is Battle for Wesnoth. You can play against other people online too!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I've just come back from my nephew's house where i've installed Ubuntu for him properly...he didn't want wubi anymore lol. Anyway, he loves the games and everything so much he went and made a YouTube video about it by the time I got home! click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8mt31HNz14) to check it out if you get a minute.

Thanks once again!

Frets On Fire (big download), Supertux, Which Way Is Up, Enigma, Bloboats, Super Tux Kart, Foobilliard, Crack Attack (nothing to do with drugs), Torcs (big download), stormbaancoureur.

I can't guarantee that they'll all hold his attention for a long time, but I have a bit of fun with them :-)
