Hey there good folk.

I'm having some trouble installing this os on my other computer. Its a fairly old computer (1GHz T-Bird, 256 mb ram..etc) but it should do just fine for what im gonna use it to. Anyways, when i put in the cd, i chose the language and pressed install. The standard ubuntu-loading comes up, goes back and forth for about a minute or so, and then the screen turns black leaving me with nothing but a blinking underscore.

Have i chosen the wrong version of ubuntu? (chose the normal i386 version).

Any help or tips is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in beforehand,

You need 384mb of ram to install Ubuntu using the live CD, so I would recommend a ram upgrade. If that's not an option, you can try the Alternate Install CD (which requires 256mb) or a lighter-weight version such as Xubuntu. Good luck!
