plugin access in firefox 3.1 beta

I have a question regarding plugins and firefox 3.1 pre-beta. I installed it in /opt, and set up a symbolic link to it in /usr/bin. My question is this: How do you tell Firefox 3.1 of the plugins that you have installed (i.e. totem plugins, ubufox, etc)? When I open up the new firefox, and look in tools/add-ons, the only one showing is the default plugin. Also, when I go to a radio station (interactive.acbradio.org), and choose a compatible stream, I get the dialogue to choose a helper application. Is there an easy way to make ff3.1 have the same access to addons as firefox 3.0.1 does? If I have to define everything manually, how do I go about doing so? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
