Icon Size

I know I can adjust the size of the panels and toolbars, but can I adjust the size of the icons that are on the desktop ?

Right click on icon then choose stretch icon.4 blue boxes will appear that let you make icon bigger.

Is there a way to change the size of all the icons on the desktop at once, and do it in a way so that new ones will also take on the same size ?
