I have a 4 CDs of Ubuntu 8.04, 2 are ones they sent me and two are ones I burned. I tried all 4 and get same problem everytime.

What I'm doing is booting the CD from startup of PC. Then it boots the CD and ask for language. (I put English) Then I selected Boot from cd without any changes made to my PC, and it goes to the ubuntu loading icon and does that for a bit, then it loads a shell type thing and say Busybox something something and just loads to that with a command line interface...

What is going wrong?

Ubuntu doesn't like your hardware. Post your specs (memory, graphics, etc)

Try the Alternate CD

To download the alternate cd (http://ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download), click on the box at the bottom below the green arrow next to start download. It is a text-based installer, but easy to use. If you have any questions about using it, please post them.
