I was running Windows XP wirh 256MB ram and popped in
the Live CD in the CD drive. An auto-run menu popped up
from which I selected 'Install Ubuntu inside Windows'.

Installation started and appeared to run ok. A progress
bar dialog with title 'Checking Installation' popped up
on reboot soon after the Ubuntu bird (a heron?) showed
the screen. Then came the error alert message
'There is no root file system - please specify via
paritioning menu'. This error alert continues indefinetely
and the only way to stop it is to turn the power off.
There is no provision for selecting a menu.

I am at a loss and would be grateful for advice.
