Hi, all --

Lindependence 2008 -- http://www.lindependence.net -- makes its way to Portland on October 25. As you may or may not know, Lindependence began in Felton, California, in July (the California LoCo participated), where a town of 6,000 people was introduced to various GNU/Linux distros and FOSS programs.

Lindependence Portland -- which has its own Web page at http://www.linuxpcs.net -- does the same thing in the Portland area, and what we're looking for are people who will bring Ubuntu LiveCDs and other optional material (e.g., schwag) in order to represent Ubuntu at the event.

I am hoping the Oregon LoCo will pitch in and represent Ubuntu at Lindependence Portland. To be honest, I will tell you what I told the California LoCo when I asked for their help in Felton: Ubuntu's participation is vital to the event's success.

If you are interested, please contact me at the address below or contact David Kaplan in Portland at davek7@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance for your help.
