On Saturday (or sooner or later? hehe), I'll buy a new laptop. I've been thinking of getting a netbook or a laptop until I realized that a netbook wouldn't be powerful enough for me and I don't want to waste this chance for me to buy a better machine. hehe.

I'm in Indonesia right now. There's a mall where they have a lot of laptops near our place here. The best machine I found that fits my needs there is the Acer Aspire 2920 (http://www.small-laptops.com/acer-aspire-2920/). After googling, apparently, it has some Ubuntu Hardy issues but I think, I can manage such problems (I've gone through a lot of compatibility problems with my present laptop! hehe).

I prefer the MSI PR200 (http://www.small-laptops.com/msi-pr200/) over that, though. After googling, I found out that I can buy that in some Mall here in Jakarta (http://www.belanjacomputer.com/shop_detail.php?detail_id=3553). I'm just hoping that what's said in their website is accurate. Other than having nicer specs in some aspects (size and weight, hdmi out, fingerprint reader...), I prefer this laptop over the Aspire 2920 because I think that it works better with Ubuntu. According to some threads in these forums, it's the same as System 76 Darter Ultra 2. I just don't know if it makes much difference in Hardy or in the future versions because Darter Ultra 2 is already discontinued.

If I am not able to find a PR200 (or a store that sells it for an amount that fits my budget), is the Aspire 2920 already a good choice? Would you recommend another 12" lappy? My budget is $800 (that's USD)

Just looking at the specs for the Acer it seems to be OK. As far as I know the Intel wireless and GMA X3100 graphics card work OOTB with Hardy (at least they did on my computers..).

Is the GMA X3100 good enough for pcsx2? hehehhe
