I am in need of opensource software that will absolutely prevent
modifications to all parts of a Windows system, selectively. That is, the person
could not make changes to the registry, to configurations, profiles, or
what ever the administrator desires to be blocked. Does any one know of
such software, for Windows machines, other than the commercially available, DEEPFREEZE? Any assistance appreciated.

You've got a nerve, dude.. asking for Windows software here :)
Not exactly open-source but free (as in free beer):

You can just make them a regular user without Admin access.
