problem with xserver (i think)

hi all, i ll be shortly =P ^^

when i start my pc, gives me an error, that said

etc/gdm/failsafeXServer
line 47 to many arguments



i delete the xorg.conf file (making a backup before =P) and now starts, but work so bad, with a lot of limitations, i cant explain

this problem starts when i upgrade this packages:
libtiff4
linux-headers-2.6.22-15
linux-headers-2.6.22-15-generic
linux-image-2.6.22-15-generic
linux-libc-dev
yelp
