I was a little offended by this picture:

http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/products/inspnnb/topics/en/us/laptop-inspiron-meetthemini9?c=us&l=en&s=dhs

If the link doesn't work the text on the image says:
"Look for Ubuntu Linux 8.04 with custom Dell interface when customizing your Inspiron Mini 9, or upgrade to Genuine Microsoft Windows XP"

How is switching from Ubuntu to XP an upgrade? Should we say that bootcamp allows you to 'upgrade' your Apple to Windows?

I used to recommend Dell computers (due in large part to their support for Ubuntu) but now I'm not sure.

I was thinking the same thing. I even made a comment about it in another thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5724718&postcount=50

can't see the text, but i presume in this case, 'upgrade' is dell-speak for 'give us more of your money'?

of course, no one with any knowledge of ubuntu would classify changing to xp as an upgrade!

I won't let that little detail discourage my interest in the mini, but I agree that wording is a bit offensive and I wouldn't mind seeing an explanation or correction about it from Dell.
