I've played with my Eee PC 900 to know that I'm not that enamoured with the customised Xandros installation. Can those with experience advise on which customised version of Ubuntu you prefer on your Eee and why?

Thanks

i dont know who that other guy is, but i can just say this: ive only heard bout 8.04 and this is the first time seeing the others on the list

for my 900 i put xubuntu 8.04 and went to array.org for the fixes

you'll bump and scrape a little if you dont know how to use terminals but its a fun ride and worth it in the end. xubuntu is light and everything works well except for mic

I would use a modified vanilla Ubuntu hardy - just like I do on my 2G surf!

I used regular Ubuntu on an SDHC card for a while to test it out. After trying a few distros, I have chosen Arch Linux for permanent installation on my 900. Arch is very flexible and easy to customize for the eee PC.

Vanilla Intrepid works fine on my 700 (once I added the "unload snd-hda-intel at shutdown" fix).
