Hi, I've developed a little, easy application which allow you to change you gimp's splash screen.

The application name is GimpSplashLoader and you can find the deb and the source code here: HERE (http://www.sciallo.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=80&mode=&order=0&thold=0)

If you have some nice ideas i'll be glad to try to develop them.

(I know this is a dummy application but i needed to refresh my Python :p)

Ok. I've renamed the project in GnomeSplashChanger (it would be nice if the program works with all gnome programs no?)

Here you can find the deb. (http://www.sciallo.net/modules/archivio/archivi/GimpSplashLoader/gnomesplashchanger_1.0-1_i386.deb) In this version you can change even openoffice SplashScreen! (But attention it MUST be a bmp file or it wouldn't work!!)

Why someone start writing a list of application with splashscreen(gnome applications!)?

Cool, thanks!

The only 2 things I can think of off the top of my head are Gnome its self and Blender. I am on a Mac right now, but should be back to my own machine later. I will see what I can come up with.

As you add programs to the program will I have to re-install or will I be able to update with Ubuntu's update manager?

using next debs you should be able to update the package but since it isn't in any repo you'll have to look for updates here.

Ok. i've improved a little the program.

Now even gnome splash-screen is editable with the program ;)

Someone knows how to change blender splashscreen? I haven't found out any tutorial or help to do this...

Other programs??

You will find the new Deb and the new source code HERE (http://www.sciallo.net/modules.php?name=archivio&file=dati&cartella=GnomeSplashChanger)

I loaded the new one, it took a second to figure out what to do, but it worked. Good job!
