Did I download and burn the iso correctly?

Hey,
I'm kinda new to this but I've downloaded Ubuntu and got it up and running (I think!). I'm not sure if I done it right but this is what I did.

1. Downloaded the installation from the Ubuntu web-site.

2. Put the Win-RAR *.iso portion of the download onto disc.

3. Uploaded the program with the disc in and it seems to be running.

Is there a way to check that I did this properly and that I am running with a complete program?

I have internet and e-mail access.

Did you install inside windows using the wubi installer or did you install ubuntu to its on partition?
