Hi All,
I was reading "The Linux Cookbook" and I came across a reference that Tux wasn't the original Linux mascot. In the earliest days of Linux, the storm petrel was the mascot drawn by Peter Wiliams.
You can still see the logo, on letterhead, by viewing the Postscript file letter.ps in the package logo2u.tar.gz http://www.funet.fi/pub/Linux/doc/logos/
Or I've attached it for your viewing pleasure. What do you think? Bin tux and bring back the petrel? I don't think so...
