hi all. i hope this is not a stupid question but i need to switch to kde 4.1 but i want to uninstall gnome completely with out harm to my system.

Is this possible to completely uninstall gnome and replace it with kde 4.1 and how would i do this as kde 4.1 is not in the ubuntu repositories.

P.S I would like to install the full kde 4.1 (not just kde-base)

Thanks for any help

It explains here (http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.1) how to add kde4.1, and this page (http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/purekde) has a lengthy command for then removing gnome afterwards (the bit entitled 'For KDE 4 to get rid of Ubuntu').
