I loved!!!! Winamp in windows. It was just simply one of the best media players ever!! It is highly customizable and it had great visualizations.

Well know i have been using Ubuntu for about a year. Hardy at the moment. And the media player i used the most was Rhythmbox. It was okay, but it lacked many of the features that i fell in love with in Winamp.

So i turned to many others, I tried Amarok, Banshee, Exaile, and audacious. The only one that came close was of course Audacious. But i didnt like it.

Then i stumbled upon Xmms. It was great. The sound quality was far better than all the other media players i tried. I know now that that is because of Xine.

so know my question is if there is a way to get some of the features from Winamp to Xmms, like the visualizations or possibly even the Bento skin.
Or can someone direct me to media players that uses the Xine engine.

If you would like to see features in XMMS, you'll have to talk with XMMS developers here: http://www.xmms.org/

A possible alternative for you:

Currently Audacious2 is in development, and the opportunity is ripe for you to put in some feature requests. More information here: http://audacious-media-player.org/index.php?title=Audacious2

Be sure to describe the feature well, and never say, "like winamp" ;)
