I installed MR and also have the icon in their in desktop...

But it closes as soon as it opens before I can figure out how to use it...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Now my Microsoft Reader works perfectly..
And surprisingly by contradicting the stressed-upon points in the blog....

This time,I did not use IE 6 to download MR (but Firefox)...
And also I saved the setup file and then 'run' it (contrary to what was demanded....not to 'save' but just 'open') and it installed properly and I can read my ebooks now...

Thanks for the link which was great help.....

Hi nuke_fluke, is that the only thing you did? I still have the problem of it closing a second or so after it opens :(

I had the same problem with MS Reader loading and exiting after a second.

Trying to run it from terminal gave me an error log that indicated that msvcirt.dll was missing.

Note that this is not msvcrt.dll, which I had to download separately, but msvcirt.dll, which is not even mentioned in any instructions I had read.

Once this was copied into the MS reader directory, it worked fine.
