What animation software package will turn still images such as png into an animated video such as avi? A Kubuntu package is preferred, but I'll take whatever I can get for Linux. Thanks!

POVray can generate the still frames of an animation in almost any format: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc. etc. Depending on the resolution, complexity of image, and processing power, this could take anywhere from a few minutes to months.

Under Windows, AviSynth and other packages can turn a collection of frames into a movie and integrate it with sound. I look through the video editor packages for Kubuntu: GOPchop, Stopmotion, Synfig studio. I don't see a way to turn still frames into animation.

Does Windows have Linux beaten in this regard? Did I miss something? Thanks for any info.
