Any recommendations on a graphical transcoding package for Hardy?

Sound Converter (http://soundconverter.berlios.de/) can encode/transcode multiple audio formats.

I use it all the time, you can configure it just the way you want, and it read tags too.:)

Are you talking about music or videos?

Music - I use foobar2000 with wine.

Videos - Avidemux, dvd::rip.

for videos, you can also use winff which is the gui front end for ffmpeg.
