Since november 2007 I have a new DELL-Notebook, on which is (was?) originally installed Feisty Fawn.
In April 2008 I tried to implement an update of the system(software) - in fact via Gutsy Gibbon (intermediate step).
But unfortunately my gnome-Desktop sticked and interrupted the prozess of system uptdating.
After several times of waiting (~30 min) I switched my notebook off. But on this way the system was not restarted automatically (which actually is necessary).
My Problem now is: I cannot reach the www and futhermore I cannot feed my Notebook with Information via CD. And while it is booting the system it doesn't accept the live cd as a boot cd.

I hope someone can help me. Thanks

please disconnect power and remove battery from notebook for 30 minutes to clear ram. Then try live cd again. If you can then get internet, I would recommend a clean install...not a reinstall of fiesty and an upgrade, but rather a new .iso of the latest release...perhaps Intrepid Ibex, though it is still in alpha, and not officially released.
